SEQUIM — The Magic Carpet Ride, a band specializing in the music of Steppenwolf — think “Born to Be Wild” and “The Pusher” — will arrive at the Oasis Sports Bar and Grill, 301 E. Washington St., on Saturday.
Advance tickets to the 7 p.m. concert are $25 including a lavish hors d’oeuvre buffet and one beverage, with proceeds to benefit the Sequim Irrigation Festival. “We play all of Steppenwolf’s greatest hits, and we’re going to be adding some other classic rock songs to our set playlist,” promised guitarist Glen Bui.
The Magic Carpet Ride, also with bassist and singer Mike Setzer, drummer Freddy Allen, keyboard player and organist Scott Kasper and singer-guitarist Randy Bailey, is about to embark on a tour with Iron Butterfly, Bui said. Saturday’s show is a warmup for that.
