The scholarship committee of the Albert Haller Foundation has selected 13 graduating high school seniors to receive scholarships.
Committee members on April 14 agreed to offer 12 Haller scholarships of $8,000 each, and a George Peabody scholarship worth $2,500.
Sequim High School seniors receiving Haller scholarships include Audrianna Bennett, Chloe Morton, Olivia Preston and Yessi Torres.
Bodi Sanderson of Sequim received the George Peabody scholarship.
Port Angeles High seniors receiving Haller scholarships were Kiahlee Bondy, Amber Johnson, Hailey Lebec and Enrique Mora.
Forks High seniors Lucille Franklin and Jaden Lohrengel, Clallam Bay High senior Victoria Donoghue and Crescent High senior Tia Berson each received Haller scholarships.
The Haller Foundation committee consists of foundation president Gary Smith, Sequim School District superintendent Jane Pryne and Port Angeles School District superintendent Marty Brewer.
In keeping with Albert Haller’s wishes selections are made with an emphasis on financial and personal need rather than strictly on academic achievement.
Over the past 25 years, the Albert Haller Foundation has donated more than $8 million in grants and scholarships, the organization notes.
