The pair of French acrobats call their offering le voilier spectacle — the sailboat sight — and they will unfurl it 10 times between tonight and Thursday at two local marinas.
Delphine Lechifflart and Franck Rabilier, a couple from Brittany, France, who have traveled the world’s seas, are now sailing down the West Coast from Vancouver, B.C., to San Francisco, performing acrobatic feats on their 40-foot sloop La Loupiote — the small, light one.
Their next stop is the Point Hudson Marina, 103 Hudson St. beyond the end of Water Street today and Saturday at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Next, the acrobats are scheduled to arrive for six more shows at the Port Ludlow Marina in front of the Resort at Port Ludlow, 1 Gull Drive, Tuesday through Thursday, again at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
These water- and airborne shows are free and public, though Lechifflart, Rabilier and their family accept donations to help fund their visits.
Sailing with daughter
The acrobats are sailing the Pacific Ocean with their 11-year-old daughter, Loeva, who is home- — or rather boat- — schooled, and her baby sister, Ondja.
Each sailboat-acrobatics performance lasts about 20 minutes.
The aerial artists use La Loupiote’s rigging, mast and boom to swing, dance and soar in two shows: “The Navigators,” a comedic show at 5 p.m. at both marinas, and the aerial ballet “Between Wing and Island” at 7 p.m.
