Last Thursday’s medication-assisted treatment facility meeting in Sequim was a real eye opener.
It is evident that the clinic is going to happen and that it has been in the planning stages for over two years.
Since much of the funding will be taxpayer funds from Olympia, our elected representatives had to be in on the early planning.
The earliest notice I could find was from the PDN in early May of this year.
Hopefully, the voters will remember the lack of concern for all the citizens of this community when we vote next November.
The real disappointment is the unfortunate fracture in the community that may have been avoided with more and earlier exchange of information and ideas.
There are still many unanswered questions.
They will probably only be answered by time and circumstance.
The result will be a festering wound and, as a result, will be too late.
I don’t know if the tribe is making a mistake with this clinic.
Only time will tell.
They certainly have made a mistake in the way they have presented it to the community.
A lot of goodwill wasted.
