LETTER:Pre-existing conditions

Insurance companies were required by the Affordable Care Act, aka ObamaCare, to cover treatment for pre-existing conditions.

For everyone.

Including you.

Many people do not realize that the ACA required these protections for everyone.

Not just for the poor.

Not just for people in Blue states.

“Health insurance companies can’t refuse to cover you or charge you more because you have a pre-existing condition.”

Republican attorneys-general with the support of President Trump worked hard to get a case before the Supreme Court that will be heard on November 10.

The court’s decision, if the Republican position prevailed, would kill protections for pre-existing conditions.

Now COVID-19 becomes a pre-existing condition.

If President Trump wins the case before the Supreme Court insurance companies will be given a green light to charge more or deny care altogether to those who tested positive for the coronavirus.

So please remember this when you vote.
