Having just received political mail from Bruce Emery’s opponent for director of Clallam County Director of Community Development which implied that his integrity is compromised by his relationships with land developers and county commissioners, I am compelled to share an experience.
About 20 years ago I visited the county DCD as a real estate agent on behalf of a client with a very complicated land use problem.
Bruce was the employee who assisted me and it was my first exposure to his professional manner.
His courteous nature and determined willingness to resolve the matter, if possible, was complemented by his thorough apprehension of the nuances of regulations.
Bruce’s proposal, which benefited my client, demonstrated his fairness and creative abilities.
His performance was what citizens want from a public servant.
He proved to be a problem solver not an obstacle.
The cheap innuendos by Bruce’s opponent reveal much more about her character and motives than about his. Discerning voters should take note.
We have more reasons than Bruce Emery’s ideal qualifications to elect him as the new DCD director.
