I get it, I understand.
You put in a hard day at work, drag your butt back home, grunt “Hi” at your wife, grab a cold one and plop yourself in front of the tube just to have your reactionary lizard brain marinated in Faux News disinformation.
Is it any wonder that you’re “torqued?”
You’re being manipulated by people who know just how to press your hot buttons and they’re making huge bank off this operation.
Manipulation for power and money.
This skullduggery ranges from the subtle to outright lies — TV, radio, print and now digital media, it’s a real cesspool out there.
So, what to do?
Well, maybe be a little cynical, not negative, but be aware — aware of your own biases and the biases of the social media landscape.
Be aware that there is a wealth of good informational media available along with the bad.
It’s up to you to sift the information, to weed out the bad and then stitch together a comprehensive understanding of the issues with the reservation that new information can change that view.
Have patience and forethought, cool your jets and relax.
Don’t let your reactionary “lizard brain” reign over your cool, logical upper cortex. That would be a good start.
And if you would please do us all a favor and stop playing around in that fetid Faux News toilet and just flush it, it’s stinking up the place.
