In rebuttal to a response relative to President Donald Trump’s first year in office in the Peninsula Daily News’ “Speaking Out” column Jan. 21: “ … he’s raised the minimum wage.”
Washington State voters passed Initiative 1433 in November 2016, which provides a minimum wage increase from (what was then) $9.47 per hour to $13.50 per hour in 2020.
The initiative process and the right to vote affords citizens of our state the opportunity to propose a law and approve or disapprove its enactment.
