LETTER: ‘Vote yes twice’ for Sequim library project

All libraries are a treasure.

Sequim has a cramped, aging library that has the possibility to grow and be the pride of our community.

Go to the website, www.nols.org/sequimfuturelibrary. The first thing you will see is the concept drawing of our future treasure.

Read all the information and watch the video of a day at the library.

We have the opportunity to create a gem for people of all ages.

If you say to yourself, “I don’t use the library,” then please take a few minutes of your time to visit.

Look around at the many services offered and the many people using this tiny gem.

Don’t vote until you visit the current library and check the future concept online.

You can’t vote without being fully informed.

The Port Angeles library is more than four times the size of the Sequim library.

But Sequim has almost as many people using the library on a daily basis.

The space is cramped and can be noisy.

The new library will have separate areas for quiet reading and noisier activities.

More computers for people needing to create resumes and apply for jobs online.

You can check out books, movies, music.

Or just sit and read a newspaper.

In November please vote twice.

Yes, twice!

The first ballot proposition establishes the library service boundary.

The second proposition funds a bond to build a library that will service everyone for many years.

Vote yes twice.

Laura Dubois,

Sequim
