LETTER: Time to write to members of Congress about immigration

Last night I watched Hot August Night III, a concert by Neil Diamond.

He sang “America,” a song celebrating immigrants coming to America.

It is a song of hope and the American spirit of welcoming people to join our country.

I have always felt it would be fitting for be our national anthem.

Now I am ashamed to be American.

How have bigoted, uncaring people moved into positions of power to emulate our president’s prejudicial position?

It is time each of us communicates with our congressional representatives to say, “Don’t allow our country turn into something Hitler might have liked.”
