This is the world we live in now: 26 state governments control whether and when you have children.
If you want children but pregnancy endangers your life, treatment may be delayed until it’s too late because your doctor could face criminal charges.
If you are raped, no matter your age, you will be charged with a felony unless you carry the rapist’s fetus to term.
If you miscarry, the police can investigate your loss as intentional.
You could be faking that grief.
Because any gun safety protections are considered by some violations of the Second Amendment right to bear arms, despite the words “well regulated,” we can’t take our children anywhere without possibly being terrified, literally blown to pieces, or both.
This isn’t freedom.
If you can’t agree with the beliefs of the most vocal U.S. religious sect, you’re praying anyway.
If you rely on real evidence or scientific rigor, sorry; my gut feeling or a Tik Tok video carries more weight than your evidence-based data in forming policy and law.
If my political party, whether in the minority or not, decides the person you love is in some way distasteful or some sort of threat, you lose.
Your love life is no longer your decision.
This is the world of forced, fear-based religion, willful ignorance, and the imposition of truly big government into the most private aspects of our lives and beliefs that today’s Republicans are making for us.
It isn’t freedom.
This November, please vote.
