LETTER: Take the census

Port Townsend

“Time is Running Out” was the headline in the Seattle Times on Sept. 8, referring to the U.S. Census.

There is only one month left and so much is at stake for our state.

It is so much more than just a count of people.

It determines funding for things like health clinics and determines how the pandemic recovery money gets distributed.

We will want to get our fair share once this pandemic is over.

In addition, funding is determined for things such as Medicaid, housing assistance, and highway and transit money, to name a few.

Tell your friends, call your relatives, make a difference in improving our great state with this simple action: take the census.

Go online at www.2020census.gov or call 844-330-2020.

The census is one thing we can do to get money to our community.

Remember, the census is mandated by the U.S. Constitution.

It’s your duty.
