I don’t state this lightly, Clallam Public Utility District is at a critical junction.
There is only one qualified candidate running for the PUD Commissioner No. 2 position and that is Rick Paschall.
The commission and management decisions that are made over the next couple of years will determine the direction and ultimate fate of our wonderful renewable energy and cost-based electric power.
The PUD has never been more at risk than it is today.
For example, it was recently kicked out of the important regional Public Power Council (PPC) due to activities of one of the PUD’s current commissioners.
PPC is a powerful, collaborative entity that works directly with BPA to help keep rates low for their customers.
This means our PUD is no longer at the table.
The Pacific Northwest is unique as our region has large amounts of hydroelectric and wind generation available, renewable resources, to help keep our lights on and keep our rates reasonable.
None of the other candidates have the in-depth Pacific Northwest utility operations background to comprehend the complex Columbia River Power System and agreements that drive our power rates.
Please vote for Rick and save our PUD.
