LETTER: Supports Parson

In the age of COVID-19, we need leaders who think outside the box.

More than 40 million U.S. workers have lost jobs, health insurance, at risk of losing their homes.

And more than 138,000 people have died nationwide, the toll rising.

Rep. Pramila Jayapal, Democrat of Seattle, responded by introducing, with Sen. Bernie Sanders, the Paycheck Guarantee Act to insure that every worker idled by coronavirus gets their full wages for a year up to $90,000.

It would put $654 billion purchasing power into workers’ pockets in the first six months, feed families, preserve health care, shelter.

She also introduced the Health Care Emergency Guarantee Act to provide universal health care for everyone, including undocumented people during COVID-19.

Jayapal needs a sister to co-sponsor this urgently needed legislation: Rebecca Parson, a young Democrat, a community organizer in Tacoma who has spent years helping the poor, homeless, incarcerated, the forgotten.

She is a first-time candidate running for Congress to represent the 6th congressional district.

She supports Jayapal’s bold initiatives.

She endorses a $15 federal minimum wage, improved Medicare for All, the Green New Deal to curb global climate change and create millions of jobs.

She would insure Social Security solvency by lifting the cap on the income of the wealthy subject to Social Security taxes.

She joined a vigil against police brutality.

Speaking of boxes, President Trump, climbed in, locked the lid, threw away the key.

We need Rebecca Parson.

Please vote for her.
