As a resident of the Olympic Peninsula and Washington’s 6th congressional district, I’m supporting Rebecca Parson in her bid to unseat Derek Kilmer.
Congressperson Kilmer co-sponsored H.R. 6697, which authorizes a portion of the next round of federal bailouts to fund corporate lobbyists, thereby supporting the very essence of money in politics, which I believe is central to our problems as a country.
This is unacceptable in normal times, but during the worst health and economic crisis in a century, I find it indefensible.
Rebecca Parson is a fierce defender of the working class, the under-represented and the voiceless here in Washington state and I believe Rebecca’s voice speaking up for us in the other Washington will be a much-needed step in the right direction for our entire nation.
She’s the only Democrat in the race who has refused corporate PAC and lobbyist money, her campaign is powered entirely by the donations and effort of Washington citizens.
When Democratic Party values are indistinguishable from Republican Party values, it’s time to vote in more progressive representation, and keep the influence of big money out of our governance.
I feel that Rebecca would put constituents before corporate profits, unlike Rep. Kilmer.
Let’s put her in Congress.
