I endorse Judge Lauren Erickson for reelection as Clallam County Superior Court Judge.
Earlier in our careers, we worked together in the Clallam County prosecuting attorney’s office.
For about 10 years we were colleagues, and I had the opportunity to reach the following conclusions about her:
she was very bright and was a capable lawyer.
After we both departed the prosecutor’s office to pursue new challenges, our professional paths crossed infrequently.
Further in my career, I became a Clallam County Superior Court Judge and Lauren made regular appearances in my court as an advocate.
She was always prepared, adept at assessing the strengths and weaknesses of a case and zealous in her representation of her clients.
Prior to her current judgeship, Lauren served as a pro tem judicial and quasi-judicial officer as well.
While I never had the opportunity to observe her when she served in those roles, I am aware that she
developed a good reputation as an impartial decision maker from those that had.
She was appointed to a vacancy on the superior court bench in 2019 by the governor after an extremely intensive vetting process conducted by the governor’s general counsel.
Judge Erickson has served the people of Clallam County, both in public service and private practice, for about 25 years and has earned their votes to retain her position as Superior Court Judge.
