LETTER: Stinson has no agenda, no ax to grind in PT

I believe PDN readers in Port Townsend will agree that, when it comes to electing public officials, one should vote only for candidates with no axes to grind, no vendettas and no personal scores to settle.

I am voting to re-elect Deborah Stinson to the Port Townsend City Council.

I believe she has only the best interests of her fellow citizens at heart.

Councilwoman Stinson epitomizes what I value in an elected public official.

She is intelligent, organized, informed, communicates openly and works well with others to address a wide variety of challenging issues.

Working with our Navy neighbors and our fire and rescue services are but two examples.

She also reaches out when appropriate to representatives of other forms of government, be they local, county, state or federal.

Most importantly, Deborah Stinson is an ethical public servant with no hidden agendas.

I believe her agenda is simple: Do that which best serves those whom you represent, the citizens of Port Townsend.

As a council member who has been honored by her council peers to serve as our mayor, it is critical that she continue to be available to help the council orient our new city manager and to assist in getting him up to speed regarding both the ongoing and the future operation of our city.

Deborah Stinson has earned our votes.

Please re-elect this dedicated and hard-working woman to city council.

Jeanette Woodruff,

Port Townsend
