LETTER: Sen. Lindsey Graham is a flip-flopper on Trump

During the 2016 presidential campaign, Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-SC, called Donald Trump a “kook,” a “race-baiting, xenophobic religious bigot” and said he was “unfit for office.”

In 2015, Sen. Graham said of Vice-President Joe Biden, “He’s the nicest person I think I’ve ever met in politics.

“He is as good a man as God ever created.”

But now, to preserve his own Senate seat and his access to power, he apparently thinks Biden is a monster of corruption and Trump is a paragon of virtue.

He, and other Republicans who have made a similar journey, should meditate on the words of the Bible: “For what shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36).
