Again, our 2nd Amendment rights are under attack by those with the perception that if we are all relieved of our firearms that the world would be a sunny, happy and safe place.
This is not a mythical fairytale world we live in, friends. It has been a troubled, dangerous world for many years, even back to the time of our founders.
Ever wonder why there is a 2nd amendment? Did our founders possess a level of percipience that allowed belief of
constantly having to defending our rights as stated in the amendment?
Governor Jay Insley and Attorney General Bob Ferguson with help from other lawmakers have embarked on a path that endangers our rights.
As a retired employee of the state, I have carried a weapon both on and off duty, and I fear we will be dangerously affected by these laws.
There were seven firearm related bills passed in the 2019. Currently there are five firearm bills before the 2020 session.
Will the prohibition on carrying a firearm for personal protection of ourselves and our family or owning a firearm for hunting, recreational target shooting, make us safer?
No, one of these laws, I-1639, hasn’t stopped the almost nightly Seattle killings, nor stop a criminal from obtaining a firearm.
Please contact our legislators, senators to remind them that our constitutional rights must be protected, and encourage them to look to the mental health/medical communities as partners in the efforts to keep firearms from those who should not have them.
