Washington legislators are proposing anti-2nd amendment legislation that’s unmistakably civil disarmament.
Rifle bans, magazine bans, permit to carry bans, ammunition bans, expansion of gun free zones and elimination of Washington’s preemption statute.
Washington already has universal background checks, red flag laws, safe storage laws and ghost gun laws, among countless others.
Are legislators saying that all these new laws didn’t stem the tide of criminal behavior?
All these are focused on the law abiding and not on the criminal element.
Elimination of Washington’s preemption statute will create an impossible patchwork of local laws that will go into effect with invisible urban boundaries, turning the law abiding into criminals and then back into the law abiding, how will this stop criminals?
FBI statistics show rifles are only used in about 2 percent of homicides.
You’re about 13 times more likely to be killed by other methods like fists, hammers or blunt objects.
Are rifles just the beginning of disarmament?
Magazine bans would only create a black market for them. How did that work with prohibition?
Ammunition bans would increase the cost to be proficient with a gun and to protect one’s self for the less affluent.
Gun control isn’t about criminal control, it’s just about control.
Call or write your legislators and tell them no to these new schemes for civil disarmament.
Washingtonians deserve the right of self-protection.
