I got a call Tuesday morning notifying me that someone dear to me passed away.
Easter has been on my mind and with what happened with the Notre Dame cathedral burning, and the news this morning, Easter seems even more important to me.
I love Paris, especially in the spring.
The French people love flowers.
You will see fresh flowers for sale along the streets.
Many streets are lined with flowering trees.
Like Paris, Port Angeles also is known for beautiful parks and beautiful flowers.
I moved to Port Angeles last June and this is my first spring here.
As in Paris, I love seeing the flowering trees.
It is a resurrection of nature.
No matter who we are, no matter where we are spiritually, Easter is a time when we can have a resurrection of our faith; faith in a better life to come after our mortal journey.
This is Easter.
We are brothers and sisters of a Heavenly Father who loves us so much, that he sent his only begotten Son, to pay the price of sin and to overcome death.
We need to have faith.
We need to follow him.
As Notre Dame will rise from the ashes and be beautiful again so will we rise from the grave as did our Savior Jesus Christ.
Luke 24:5, “Why seek ye the living among the dead. He is not here, but is risen.”
Celebrate with us at 9 a.m. or noon Easter Sunday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 591 Monroe Road, Port Angeles.
