LETTER: Real patriots

Sequim

My great-great-great grandfather, the Revolution; three of his grandsons, the Union Army; my father, World Wars I and II; my father-in-law, World War II; my brother, Vietnam; my husband, Korea; my son, Iraq.

All suckers and losers, according to the present inhabitant of the White House, who “doesn’t get” why they, and thousands of others, would have put their lives on the line for their country.

He sure doesn’t.

Courage and self-sacrifice are beyond his comprehension.

Every time he opens his mouth he spews insults; now it’s everyone, living or dead, who has served their country.

Your loved ones, your ancestors, as much as mine.

He holds them all in contempt.

When Putin was found to be offering bounties on American lives, he said nothing, did nothing.

After all, why should he defend all those suckers?

How can anyone calling themselves patriotic Americans continue to support him?
