LETTER: Reader supports Steve Tharinger

From Sequim

Reading the PDN oin Sept. 20, it seems that Pruitt bullied Tharinger rather than scolded.

Tharinger has been a very effective representative.

He is on some very important committees.

He has helped with funding for the Boys & Girls Clubs, the Waterfront Center, the Northwest School for Wooden Boat Building and Olympic Medical Center.

He has helped establish two dental clinics, plus more.

He stands up for science and facts, something which Pruitt seems to ignore.

Pruitt wants his freedom, maybe from wearing a mask with our COVID situation.

He blames Tharinger for this.

He should look at Trump, purposely ignoring the safety of Americans by doing virtually nothing to help, which could have saved thousands of lives and more to come.

Facts and science should dictate how people react to this virus.

Clallam County has done well because of wearing masks.

Pruitt thinks religious rights have been compromised.

Not true.

Churches should be on Zoom to keep people safe.

Pruitt thinks he can go to Olympia and get added lanes to 101.

One doesn’t just show up as a representative and get that done.

Steve Tharinger has done a great job in Olympia for our region.

He is the right person for the job, and he knows how to work with other people.

It seems obvious, just from the tone of Pruitt at this forum, that he is not up for this position.

Steve Tharinger has my vote.
