Mr. Derek Kilmer knows America must uphold its promises to our seniors.
That’s why I was so alarmed by a recently published letter to the editor that erroneously claimed he wants to cut Social Security.
That’s just not true.
Here are the facts.
Mr. Derek Kilmer is a sponsor of the Social Security 2100 Act, to improve the cost-of-living increases, raise minimum benefits, and extend the program through the year 2100 – and would do so by asking the very wealthiest Americans to pay their fair share.
Mr. Derek Kilmer is a sponsor of the Seniors Have Eyes, Ears, and Teeth Act to enhance the coverage provided under Medicare to cover vision, hearing and dental needs.
Mr. Derek Kilmer has a 100 percent voting record with the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare in the current Congress and is the only candidate in his race to have received their endorsement.
He’s also the only candidate endorsed by the Washington State Labor Council and the Retired Public Employees Council of Washington.
Now more than ever we need a representative with a record of supporting seniors in our region.
The Honorable Derek Kilmer is that representative, and he deserves our support and vote.
Shu.
