LETTER: Questions about development near Sequim

I first read about the proposed housing development above U.S. Highway 101 and Brownfield Road in Sequim as “Bell Estates,” however, recent writings refer to it as “Bell Hill Estates.”

Understandably, a “name” can add value as a marker or recognition for real estate marketing, but where is a list of amenities and conveniences within this high density development project that would prompt ownership by any age group?

Also, what will be the source of its water supply, and how will the sewage and storm run off be handled?

I live off Happy Valley Road so I am quite familiar with the site where this “development” has been proposed.

With its small town attributes and lovely scenery, Sequim is a very desirable place to enjoy one’s remaining years, but still, will retirees want to invest in a home where their best view is a neighbor’s barbecue pit, or where further building will be taking place around them for several years according to the proposed three-phase building plan?

In reality, the plan to build 103 houses on that small hillside under the Bell Hill Community is bound to become a huge traffic problem for any buyer and the current residents of this entire area as well.

Brownfield Road (east and west) in proximity to Sequim Avenue and the U.S. Highway 101 on\off ramps are already well traveled and utilized by commuters and school buses.

They must already know that … or, just ask anybody who lives and works here.
