In reference to the letter published in the Aug. 21 PDN entitled “Reclaim liberty,” why did you find it necessary to include a letter which trashed science, was sexist and racist?
The Association of American Medical Colleges recently published its findings which stated that proper mask use can reduce the transmission of COVID-19 by as much as 90 percent, protecting both the wearer and others.
I highlight the word proper, because many wear masks under the nose, under the chin, or wear a face shield with no mask underneath, all of which do nothing to stop the spread.
To say a disadvantage of wearing masks is that they cover the faces of pretty girls is blatantly sexist.
To say they cover the faces of looters, I suspect, is intended as racism.
