Yes, taxes are a pain, but the money isn’t being stolen.
Meat inspection, medical research, and drug safety.
Streetlights and football stadiums.
Fire, police and the military.
Road departments, building departments and zoning laws.
Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.
National, state, county and city parks.
Highways, airports and port facilities.
Electricity from tax-built dams and where do you suppose dependably clean water comes from?
Sure, we all have our own opinions about where tax money should go, but since we live in the same country, we have to compromise.
Everyone grumbles about the details, but most of us agree to pay our fair share while understanding that the system will always be imperfect.
Our laws only describe the absolute lowest level of acceptable conduct.
Anyone can be a despicable person while staying well within the law.
If you’re wealthy enough to find ways of hiding your income, you can enjoy all the benefits of advanced society while never paying your share.
The president may not have broken any laws by not paying his fair share, but he and every other tax cheat is driving on your roads, using your ports, your police department, your clean water, your educational system, your sewage treatment, your military and eating your safe food.
You and I have paid for all these benefits of our society, but he hasn’t.
We’ve been footing the bill for his lavish lifestyle for years while he laughs and says he is a ‘winner.’
Truly it’s called cheating.
