LETTER: President clearly not fit for office

The decision of the 45th president of the United States to withdraw U.S. troops from Syria against the emphatic recommendations of all his advisors and people of experience in the Congress demonstrates that he is unfit to lead our great nation.

He puts our troops at risk not only in Syria but also around the world.

He bolsters the resolve of the Islamic State group and other terrorist groups.

He abandons our allies and friends on the battlefield.

He supports the Russian agenda to weaken NATO and our commerce partners in Europe.

Last but not least, he destroys our reputation as a country that can be trusted.

His macho adolescent mentality that we are bulletproof and can “whup ass” without partnership with our fellow citizens of the world is not in accord with the view of the learned and experienced people on his staff, most notably four star Marine general James Mattis, who see him of limited cognitive ability and of dubious character.

He is without leadership skills in the manner of the great men in our history.

George Washington was of the persuasion that a leader should listen, learn from what he hears, help his followers to accomplish their goals and only then lead.

Abraham Lincoln proclaimed while in the throws of the slaughter of 750,000 of our citizens we should remain together “With malice toward none, with charity for all…”

Clearly, Trump should be impeached and removed from office for prosecution for his unconscionable crimes against the American people.
