LETTER: Port Angeles voters should carefully consider what second-class-city status means

It is distressing to hear that a group led by Eloise Kailin, a person who is not a resident of Port Angeles, wants to change Port Angeles city government to a second-class designation.

All the testimony of health professionals who have testified to the Port Angeles City Council on the benefits of fluoridation has been cast aside, prompting this Nov. 7 ballot measure.

The fact that New York City, with over 8 million people, has had fluoridated water for at least 50 years — this group’s motto is: “Don’t confuse me with facts.”

I urge Port Angeles voters to consider carefully their decision Nov. 7 when they vote on changing city government.
