I just watched the “liar-in-chief” Trump, and his third-in-command, Vance, attack the world’s bravest defender of freedom and anti-authoritarianism, Zelenskyy.
It’s the first moment in my life when I felt embarrassed to be an American.
They both wanted Zelenskyy to, once again, thank the United States for our financial support in his fight for his country’s existence, which is what he has endlessly done since Putin ruthlessly attacked Ukraine.
How about Trump thanking the Ukrainian people who have given their lives in fighting a proxy war against a U.S. enemy dictator without a single American boot on the ground?
How about Trump thanking Zelenskyy for entertaining a deal to give up his country’s natural resources to pay back the U.S. in pursuit of peace?
Since I was a child in the 1950s, the president was always the leader of the free world. Now the president is the appeaser of the authoritarian world.
We won the Cold War by bankrupting the Soviet Union and standing with our allies.
Russia is now floundering and can’t win a war against a country a fraction of its size.
