When I was growing up on a farm in South Dakota, one of my jobs was to get the cows in from the pasture.
Doing so required being aware of rattlesnakes, which were numerous.
I was taught how to carry and use a big stick to dispose of any snake I came across.
In addition, I carried a pocket knife to salvage the rattlers, although I only kept the bigger ones.
I knew, and followed, the rules I was taught which served me well.
Today we have several rules about the rattlesnake named coronovirus.
We have the choice of following and applying the rules or ignoring then and maybe suffer.
The adults have the choice: mask and 6 feet of distance and wash or sanitize hands often.
Adults are responsible for the young and teens as well as their selves.
We don’t need to have a Papa governor playing the go-no-go game; just get out of the way, governor.
Quit playing politics with our lives.
