Misinformation and twisted history, two pillars of the Democratic Party, are alive and well.
A letter to the editor (“An Illusion,” July 25) erroneously claims Trump’s 2017 tax cuts have caused reduced federal revenues and increased the national debt.
Everyone should know as unemployment goes down, more people are employed and pay more taxes.
John Kennedy and Ronald Reagan both understood that reducing tax burdens boosts the economy and results in more jobs.
Kennedy was the last Democrat to understand economics.
Contrary to what the writer states, Trump’s tax cuts have increased revenues to $3.3 trillion in the last two years.
Those are the highest revenues ever, and they are projected to increase to $3.6 trillion in 2020.
However, the writer is not totally to blame as I have also seen major media outlets misinform to claim that Trump’s tax cuts have reduced federal revenue.
Don’t believe me, look up the numbers.
Obama increased the national debt from $10 trillion to $20 trillion in his eight years of office.
Out-of-control federal spending is what drives up the national debt, not tax cuts which produce jobs.
Unfortunately, the new ideas of current Democratic presidential candidates are free college education, free Medicare for all and free Medicare for immigrant children — all of which would increase the national debt.
Also, unfortunately, free college education and free medical services are not new ideas.
Both were included in Articles 120 and 121 of the 1936 Soviet Constitution.
Old Joe Stalin would be proud of our modern Democratic Party.
