There’s life, death, taxes and insurance.
That’s why we keep current on premiums, so when things go wrong, get out of hand, there’s money to fix it.
Things will get out of hand if we let people run around with guns acting in the name of the law.
Someone calls out to others to rally round a cause, bring their guns to protect the community and be competent shooters.
Maybe he knows who they are, maybe some are strangers.
Maybe they have the same object in mind, maybe something else.
Maybe some are competent shooters, whatever that means.
Maybe they’re all just level-headed patriots, maybe some not so much.
Maybe a car backfires.
What then?
Some might think, “a car backfired.”
Some might think otherwise and things get out of hand.
Then who’s to blame?
The well intended and beloved protector who called out for help?
The car that backfired?
The police for not preventing it from happening?
Maybe a City Council hoping the dust will settle like the last time vigilantes strutted around with their AR-15’s and AK-47’s?
What’s it going to take to fix it when the lawsuits plaster the walls of the courthouse?
Money.
Yours and mine, whatever the insurance won’t cover.
That’s liability.
Money can’t fix everything.
Shattered lives, reputations and the soul of a community.
I have a suggestion.Leave the protection business to those professionals that wear a badge.
They’ll protect us from men running around with guns.
