I had the opportunity to observe the COVID-19 food assistance program held at the Sequim Middle School parking lot and the Sequim High School parking lot recently.
I was amazed at the number of volunteers from VIPS, fire department, police department, CERT and others.
From what I could see, the community response was great.
For an event of this size, one would expect some problems along the way, but instead it went off like clockwork or a well-oiled machine.
The volunteers were very professional and extremely friendly.
If only our state and federal government could operate half as well.
Kudos to all involved.
