LETTER: Henninger dedicated in service to others

Let’s be clear about the role of an Olympic Medical Center hospital commissioner, which is two-fold: first, to provide governance for the hospital district, and second, to set budgetary and strategic policies.

The day-to-day operations of the hospital and its satellite clinics are under the direction of the chief executive officer.

A hospital commissioner does not have the power to overturn laws — in fact, as an elected official, a commissioner takes a vow to uphold all local, state, and federal laws.

Ann Marie Henninger has spent her entire life, personally and professionally, in service to others.

She is an advocate, educator, volunteer and dedicated to helping all in our community.

My vote for hospital commissioner is for Ann Marie Henninger based on her experience and qualifications.

She has attended OMC hospital board meetings since October 2017, unlike her opponent who has not attended one meeting.

It is critical to have a hospital commissioner possessing a strong and diverse skill set and one who has taken the time to learn about the role of a commissioner and the operations of OMC.

Henninger will be an asset and excellent addition to the OMC board.

Join me in voting for Ann Marie Henninger.

Karen Rogers,
