In response to the letter “Stand up for rights”: Yes, we can have restrictions on the Second Amendment.
We have limits on the First Amendment, so why is the Second Amendment any different?
Categories not protected by the First Amendment include incitement, defamation, fraud, obscenity, child pornography, fighting words, hate speech, and threats.
Look it up.
Your rights end where my rights start.
I have a right to feel safe in large crowds, churches, and schools.
I am sick and tired of the argument that you need large clips for personal defense.
I am for background checks, banning assault weapons and banning high-capacity magazines.
Most Americans, including gun owners, feel the same way, according to many, many polls over the years.
Full disclosure: my family owns guns for hunting.
