LETTER: Give Port Angeles students the best tools available

The best way to fight ignorance and stupidity is through education.

Our country’s framers understood this and did something phenomenal: They instituted a public education system for everyone.

As a carpenter and business owner, I believe in using the best tools available.

I don’t use hand saws, hand planes, horse and buggy or an abacus to accomplish my job.

I use the newest and best technology to deliver the best product I am capable of.

I feel we should also give our children this same opportunity.

Our children in Port Angeles are using 1960s era buildings at Stevens Middle School.

They compete with children using 2020 technology.

They’re at a disadvantage, just as I would be if my tools were not as technologically advanced as my peers.

It’s time to give our children the same tools others have.

Please vote yes on the school levy.
