The Thomas Friedman column Monday, March 11, was very helpful in explaining the Ilhan Omar controversy that has been in the news lately. (“Ilhan Omar, Aipac and me,” PDN, March 11)
I have struggled to understand the historical implications of her comments and I appreciated reading his thoughtful and thorough commentary.
His well laid-out and very informative arguments do what great writers should do to make one pause, reflect, and reread for information and understanding.
While Friedman disagrees with Omar’s comments and tactics, he also spoke of her in a gracious and respectful manner. Thank you, Peninsula Daily News, for bringing this kind of writing into our home on a regular basis.
