The Democratic and media siege against President Donald Trump could get him elected in 2020 as it did in 2016.
They do this by fixating ad nauseam on Trump’s character flaws and now his unnecessary impeachment.
They downplay the real concerns of Americans including the economy, national security, gun control, health care, Social Security, consumer/anti-trust protection and climate change.
The American people realize that these issues have little to do with Trump’s character, Russia or Ukraine.
They have everything to do with Congressional corruption by a moneyed elite which undermines the public interest in favor of its own self-seeking.
It plies public officials with election financing, lobbying and favors.
It then implausibly denies that this largesse has any bearing on legislation benefiting the wealthy against the interests of the nation.
The Founders regarded this core corruption as the most serious threat to the American republic.
James Madison regarded the unequal distribution of property as the primary source of political conflict, the regulation of which was the principal task of popular government.
He defined a republic as a government which derives all its powers from the people and not from some favored class of tyrannical and oppressive elites.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren is one of the few candidates prepared to address this corruption directly.
She is ascending in the polls more rapidly than Trump or any other Democrat.
Impeachment may only serve to re-elect Trump or worse.
It might be more productive to remove some of the Republican and Democratic deadwood from Congress.
