LETTER: Clallam DCD needs new leadership

New leadership

The Clallam County Department of Community Development needs new leadership.

The Department of Community Development’s actions, specifically within the planning department, have resulted in expensive and avoidable legal action.

Citizens are being required to follow complicated and expensive permitting procedures that are unnecessary.

The Department of Community Development has also failed in its obligation to involve the public in code development, revisions and updates, which the county will now have to defend in court.

Julie Gardner is exactly what the county needs, new fresh leadership by a trained professional planner.
