In his letter to the PDN on Aug. 13, a writer complains that the “ … morons have voted again … to support the Democratic party.”
And concludes, “How does anyone with an ounce of grey matter support Democrats?”
Being one of those morons, I would like to explain why I voted for Democrats.
Rather than debate the possible good and bad effects of innumerable government policies I think it is better to look at our history.
Bill Clinton, a Democrat, built a very robust economy that led to a budget surplus.
Bush, a Republican, inherited that flourishing economy and transformed it into a massive recession.
Obama, a Democrat, inherited that recession and led us through an economic recovery.
Trump, a Republican, inherited that strong economy and has now managed in three years to push us back into another recession.
Based on those facts, I find it hard to see why anybody would vote Republican.
