What if we hired professional photographers to take pictures of the statues, many of which may already be available, and a historian to compile an account of what each person contributed to society?
Photos and text could then be published in book form for schools and stores.
In place of each statue, a tree could be planted, bringing people together, providing shade in the summer, beauty all year round while creating a natural filter for the air we breathe.
The money saved from building a large museum in which to house the statues could be used for each community’s special needs; affordable housing, hunger relief, health care, a Boys and Girls Club or a library.
In this way, history would be preserved and the planet nourished.
