Staff and customers at Jim’s Pharmacy in Port Angeles raised more than $700 to support Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County, the March recipient of Jim’s Cares Monthly Charity. The funds are raised through monetary donations, used book sales, donated employee casual days and a percentage of over-the-counter sales at Jim’s.

The Kiwanis Club of Port Angeles raised $7,022 for local food banks in its 27th Community Tuna Fish Drive. 

Jerrie Tiderman, Kiwanis tuna chair, presented a check for $4,122 to Emily Dexter, executive director of the Port Angeles Food Bank. 

The club donated the remaining $2,900 from the annual drive to the Salvation Army Food Bank.

Sequim composer Jennifer Thomas' songs continue to be used by professional figure skaters, including three competitors at the 2021 World Figure Skating Championships in Stockholm, Sweden in late March.
