Work of two artists, jeweler featured in Port Ludlow

PORT LUDLOW — The Port Ludlow Art League will hold its Second Wednesday Reception from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the lobby of Port Ludlow Community Bank and next door at the Port Ludlow Art Gallery from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The bank and the gallery are located at the corner of Oak Bay Road and Osprey Ridge Drive.

The league’s featured artists will attend.

Pamela Raine is the league’s artist of the month and her work will be on display at Sound Community Bank this month.

She shares her experiences in Southeast Asia using various mediums, including collage, plaster, paper, encaustics, watercolors, acrylics, fibers and clay, organizers said.

The jeweler of the month is Katie Jablonski.

Of late, Jablonski has been working with various stones, silver casting, beading, enameling, and polymer clay to create unique jewelry designs. Her work will be on display at the Port Ludlow Art Gallery in September.

Before moving to Port Ludlow, she taught pottery, sculpture, and children’s art classes throughout the United States.

She is inspired by nature and the expressions of life that flow from within the materials she uses, such as bronze and aluminum, to create ceramic sculptures, tiles, and useful vessels. Her ceramic dove, whale, dolphin, and turtle cards, available at the Port Ludlow Art Gallery, spread her message of peace through artistic expression, organizers said.

The work of artist Jim Ferrara will be on display at the Port Ludlow Bay Club, 120 Spinnaker Place.

Before moving to Port Ludlow, Ferrara worked for 25 years as an art director and set designer for the film and television industry.

His many road trips throughout the Yukon, Canada, Southwest and Pacific Northwest have inspired him to create new impressions out of natural forms.
