Women’s chorale group to perform in Port Angeles, Sequim

The Northwest Women’s Chorale will present its holiday concert, “Listen to the Sounds in Heaven,” at 7 p.m. Saturday in Sequim and Monday in Port Angeles.

The Sequim performance will be at the Dungeness Valley Lutheran Church, 925 N. Sequim Ave. The Port Angeles performance will be at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 Lopez Ave., Port Angeles.

The suggested donation will be $15.

The eclectic selection of seasonal songs from around the world are arranged for women’s voices and showcase the group of 25 singers.

The chorale is performing a piece arranged by Sequim’s own Linda Dowdell, as well as several pieces by Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo.

The chorale, in its 11th year, is directed by Joy Lingerfelt and accompanied by collaborative pianist Kristin Quigley Brye.

Soloists for this concert are Judy Moilanen, Sally Bays, Emma Kelly, Mallory Jacobs and B.J. Kavanaugh.

Chorale members Janessa Fodge will join Kristin at the piano for two duet accompaniments and Vicki Helwick will assist on drums.

Others accompanying will be Patti Monson on flute and Anita Bonham on bells.

The chorale is made up of 25 women from the Sequim and Port Angeles area.
