Winslow-King bringing swing, jazz to Fort Worden

PORT TOWNSEND — New Orleans musician Luke Winslow-King will bring his eclectic mix of Mississippi delta blues, folk music, traditional jazz and roots rock to Rainshadow Recording at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Tickets are $15 at Crossroads Music or online at lukewinslowking.brown papertickets.com for the Saturday night show at Rainshadow Recording in Building 315 at Fort Worden State Park.

Luke Winslow-King is a New Orleans-based guitarist, singer, composer, producer and songwriter.

His work combines Mississippi delta blues, folk music, traditional jazz and roots rock ’n’ roll.

He has performed gospel and jazz standards accompanying John Boutté, picked up bottleneck slide guitar watching blues maestro Roberto Luti, performed in John Sinclair’s Blues Scholars and immersed himself in the traditional jazz songbook while playing with Ben Polcer and The Loose Marbles Jazz Band.

During this time, he was also a member of Meschiya Lake’s Little Big Horns and is featured on her album “Lucky Devil.”

He joined the Bloodshot Records roster in 2013 with the release of “The Coming Tide” and followed with 2014’s “Everlasting Arms” and “I’m Glad Trouble Don’t Last Always” in 2016.
