The first weekend of 2024 offers a host of activities to warm participants on the North Olympic Peninsula.
• First Friday Art Walk in Sequim will feature the eighth annual “Whodunnit Downtown?”
The gallery walk is a free, self-guided tour of at least 11 local art venues in Sequim from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. the first Friday of every month.
The “Whodunnit Downtown? — The Case of the Sterling Reputation” Mystery Game allows visitors to engage with suspects and collect clues about them at various venues to solve the crime for prizes. To play, pick up a game card at any of the participating venues at 5 p.m. Fill out the card and enter it at Whodunnit Headquarters: Habitat for Humanity of Clallam County’s Sequim Habitat Boutique Store at 154 W. Washington St., and then be part of the prize drawing for the correct answer at 7:30 p.m.

• Blue Whole Gallery artists will bring out their best during the First Friday Art Walk and throughout January.
The downtown artist venue at 129 W. Washington St. hosts an exhibit starting today with the theme of “The Best Of … ”
Meet the artists and see their 2D and 3D artistry at a reception from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, or visit the gallery between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday; the gallery is closed on Sundays in January.

• “Impressions,” an exhibition that celebrates the diversity of human experience through the artistry of printmaking, is on view at Field Hall Gallery, 201 W. Front St., Port Angeles, through Feb. 4.
“Impressions” showcases the work of Washington-based artists working with printmaking: Thomas Connery, Monica Gutierrez-Quarto, Cody Hagen, Erika Harada, Nikki Jabbora-Barber and Eileen Jimenez.
The Field Hall Gallery is free to access and open to the public from noon to 4 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. The gallery also welcomes visitors one hour before most Field Hall Presents events.
• Yarn circle hosted by the North Olympic Library System will be from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturdays in January.
The circles will meet at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave.
The circles are open to knitters, crocheters, embroiderers and cross-stitchers ages 15 and older; all experience levels are welcome.
Basic finger-knitting supplies will be available, and an assortment of hot beverages will be provided.
The program is supported by the Friends of Sequim Library.

• Free boating clinic will be presented by America’s Boating Club of the North Olympic Peninsula at 10 a.m. Saturday.
“Crossing Borders and Extended Cruising” will be at the Port Angeles Yacht Club, 1305 Marine Drive.
The clinic will discuss the requirements for crossing into Canada as well as what to take and what to leave home.
• North Olympic Shuttle and Spindle Guild will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday.
The guild meets at the Olympic Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 1033 N. Barr Road.
This month’s meeting will feature member show-and-tell presentations.

• Crescent Bay Lions Club will serve breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sundays.
The meal will be served at the Lions Clubhouse, 181 Holly Hill Road, weekly through Mother’s Day on May 12.
The menu includes eggs cooked to order, hash browns, bacon or sausage, a choice of pancakes, French toast or biscuits and gravy and beverages.
The meal costs $12 per person, $10 for seniors and $8 for children ages 12 and younger.
Proceeds support scholarships for Crescent High School seniors, holiday food baskets, glasses for the needy and other community projects.
