PORT ANGELES — Second Friday Art Rock at Bar N9NE tonight will kick off Port Angeles’s monthly Second Saturday Art Walk.

2FAR will launch at 9 tonight and feature paint artists Lynne Roberson and Jeff Tocher, with performances by an Olympic Peninsula funk band, Kahyoti, at Bar N9NE, 229 W. First St.

A $3 cover charge will help support the musicians and artists.

Kahyoti is led by Mike Pace (guitar/vocals), Mark Schecter (keyboards/vocals), Jim Charlier (bass/vocals) and Terry Smith (drums). The band plays funk, blues, Latin, jazz, reggae and rock.

Around the corner, Harbor Art, at 114 N. Laurel St., will be on the route for the Second Saturday Art Walk.

The gallery is featuring the work of Carolyn Guske in November.

She will be at the gallery from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for Art Walk.

Guske has had a lifelong passion for animals and a 30-year career as an animation artist for Disney, Dreamworks, Warner Brothers and Sony.

In between animation gigs in 2009, Guske began to paint farm animals. She received such personal satisfaction from rediscovering watercolor that her focus has turned into painting every rare breed of animal, she said.

An avid traveler, she enjoys the process of visiting farms to take photos to create her compositions. She also teaches traditional drawing and watercolor painting on the Peninsula.

Also on Art Walk on Saturday are:

• Studio Bob at 118½ E. Front St. will welcome an exhibit of work by Olympic Peninsula photographers with a reception from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.

Joining Schafter for the show are Keith Ross, David Schmidt, Roger Mosley, Randy Tomaras, Jim Hagen, Thompson Holmes, Richard Kohler, Kryztyna Ross and Beau Damon Richards.

On Sunday, the show will be open between noon and 3 p.m.

Also at 10 a.m. Sunday, Schafer will offer a free impromptu chat about “The Art of Photography.”

He will touch on the importance of proper exposure using a DSLR, composition of images, a little about portraiture and the history of photography.

“Olympic Peninsula Photographers” will be up throughout November.

There will be a no-host bar serving beer and wine in The Loom during the opening.
