Virtual home tour tickets on sale now

PORT TOWNSEND — Tickets are on sale now for the 23rd Annual Home & Kitchen Tour, which will be offered online April 23-25.

This year’s tour hosted by the American Association of University Women Port Townsend/ University Women’s Foundation will take advantage of virtual technology and offer the event to viewers everywhere.

Anyone interested in Jefferson County can tour special homes, condos, and ship galleys throughout Port Townsend, Port Ludlow and Marrowstone Island, organizers said.

In addition, interviews with homeowners, architects, and designers will be offered, as well as seminars by local experts including cabinet maker Charlie Rawlins, Studio STL, Evergreen Home Loans, and Peninsula Paint with Rogers Painting Group.

Registration is $25 to get on the tour for the three days. Sign up online at the AAUW Port Townsend website at https://pt-wa.aauw.net. Donations also can be given on the website.

Those who register will be emailed the tour link along with a Passport program booklet to view or print. Alternatively, participants can ask for pre-printed programs sent in the mail.

On the first day of the event, the link for the tour website will come alive. Those with questions can email tourtickets@aauwpt.org.

During the three-day tour, ticket-holders will enjoy maximum flexibility to visit multiple times. A home can be selected and toured in a 3D virtual environment that allows the viewer to look up, look down, move forward, move backwards and stop at interesting points to learn more about them.

Or the tour can be placed on automatic mode so that the viewer can sit back to enjoy the walk-through.

Proceeds will benefit AAUW/UWF, which has for more than 70 years raised scholarship and educational funds for students in Jefferson County.

“Because of the recent strain on our economy and schools, it has become more critical to provide much needed support to our schools and ambitious students,” organizers said.
