PORT TOWNSEND — Port Townsend School of the Arts Downtown will present valentine calligraphy in action with Rebecca Wild during Gallery Walk from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.
Wild will create one-of-a-kind valentines at the gallery at 236 Taylor St., during Gallery Walk.
Last year, she created over 40 custom cards on request, with a line forming in anticipation, organizers said.
Many of Port Townsend School of the Arts’ (PTSA) artist-teachers will join Gallery Walk to talk about their work and the classes they offer in connection a curated faculty exhibit called FEAST running through February.
FEAST will celebrate an abundance of food, flora, color and form at PTSA Downtown.
Participating teacher-faculty include Wild, Marcy Gordon, Meg Kaczyk, Cheri Kopp, Kim Kopp, Rick Myers, Suzanne Lamon, Linda Okazaki, Mary O’Shaughnessy, Julie Read, Frank Samuelson, Kerry Tremain, Charlie Van Gilder, Lindsey Wayland, Dana Weir and Chris Witkowski.

• Gallery 9, 1012 Water St., where artist Gary Rainwater will discuss his work from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
His oil paintings will be on display at Gallery 9 throughout February.
Rainwater said he has lived at least three lives spanning a 22-year career as a Los Angeles fireman; re-building (and building) large boats starting in 1956; and working as a painter and a woodcarver.
His boat, the S/V Ladyhawk, originally a Danish fishing boat, has been on exhibit at the annual Wooden Boat Festival in Port Townsend.
Rainwater’s array of painting themes stem from his diverse interests; they include boats, nature and rustic scenes.
He likes to paint big and bold, in oils, with a thoughtful hand.

• Port Townsend Gallery at 715 Water St., which will host artists Mike Biskup and Loran Scruggs during Gallery Walk.
Biskup is a contemporary watercolor painter of imaginary landscapes and abstractions. He will feature a series of new all-natural watercolor paintings.
Recently, he’s been working on creating visually compelling, completely non-toxic, archival work. He has been making his own paints from natural mineral earth pigments, gum Arabic and local honey and then sealing his paintings with beeswax.
Scruggs has been making works out of tin cans since 1991. Later, bottle caps became a large part of her work when she started making whistles.
The plaques started shortly after that, two-dimensional flat pieces created by cutting and nailing tin to wood.

• Northwind Arts Center, 701 Water St., which will host a reception for its new exhibit, Folded Space / Furled Geometries, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.
The show, which offers paintings by Mary Lou Kostal and sculptures by Kim Simonelli, opened Thursday and will be on view through Feb. 24.
Simonelli will present an Art Talk at 1 p.m. Sunday.
Retrospective work from Kostal, an abstract expressionist painter, covering the 1950s through 2010, is paired with new steel sculptural works of Simonelli, organizers said.
“Color and geometry fold and furl into a dance of painting and sculpture, with modern expressionist artwork from a studied abstract expressionist, and a self-taught designer and maker,” said a press release from the arts center.
Exhibit hours are from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Monday. The center is closed on Tuesdays.
